A simplistic overview of the trials so far. The Itokawa Organism, or (IO) is ingested and starts to grow in the stomach area. Its first order of business is to create a central nervous system within the host. Not only that, but it also starts to practice creating other parts of the host that it will eventually replace, like a head, including a mouth, nose, and ears. Once IO is ready, it physically transfers its central nervous system to its final location, as it is built in many different small sections and connected using a complex system of pathways.
